The North American Ministerial Council is made up of all the licensed and credentialed Church of God (Seventh Day) ministers who reside in the United States and Canada. This body meets every two years and is responsible to unite our ministers in developing pastoral and evangelistic programs, to study God’s Word together and to establish the doctrinal positions of our church.
In October I attended this year’s meeting in Gull Lake, Michigan. This year marks the 150th anniversary of the Church of God (Seventh Day) movement which began just a few miles from where our ministers held this year’s meeting.
Each day’s program included an interesting historical review which, by the end of the week, brought us from our beginnings to the present.
On Sabbath, the closing day of the meetings, the Ministerial Council was joined for worship by all of the Michigan congregations.
Even the students and faculty of Spring Vale Academy made the trip and I was able to visit with Scott, Liz and Alexis Fischer; Derek Fauth and Malachi Reyes. Other former Lodi members present included Albert and Kathy Helvey, Joyce Olds and her daughter Lark, and George and Debbie Boyles along with their children, Rebecca and Michael.
