Revolve Tour 2008

On October 24 and 25 Rachael Stacy, Eva Adame, Jessica Monrose, Danielle Sheffield and I took seven of our teen girls to Arco Arena for the Revolve Tour.

The tour is a conference for young women ages 13-18 where issues important to this demographic are discussed in light of God’s truth and love.

There were several speakers, a worship band, a drama team, and several Christian music artists who shared their talents in order to encourage each heart toward a thriving relationship with Christ.

The theme this year was “All Access,” and the central verse was Matthew 16:19 (the Message). “You will have complete and free access to God’s kingdom, keys to open any and every door: no more barriers between heaven and earth, earth and heaven.”

The message was not only to remind the girls that Jesus has provided them with an all-access pass to God, but also to encourage them to allow Him all access to their hearts and lives.

The girls who attended from our church were Ariana Fauth, Katie Nienhuis, Bria and Citrina Niles, Kim and Stephanie Rodriquez, and Jill Self. We all enjoyed the Revolve Tour and our time of bonding!

On Friday night we stayed at Eva Adame’s home and even got a few hours of sleep!

Thank you to the Women’s Group for helping us financially, to the parents for allowing your daughters to go, and to the chaperones for all your help. We’re already looking forward to next year’s Revolve Tour!

Mountain musings

My cousin, who lives in Sacramento, calls it “Devil Weed.” This “weed” is known as Creeping Bedstraw and is very common here in the foothills. It is invasive, and because its leaves are sticky, it clings to your shoes when you brush up against it.
